Science and Art Technician

Key responsibilities

Work closely with and take direction from the Head of Secondary Science and the Head of Secondary Art and Design, dividing your time according to an agreed weekly schedule.

Maintain science laboratories and preparation rooms and their equipment, and services in line with school standards and health and safety expectations.
Prepare materials, equipment, chemicals and solutions for science lessons.
Control stock and inventory and purchase sundries/consumables.
Clear away apparatus and equipment and clean surfaces, spills, glassware and sinks.
Dispose of waste materials safely and in line with Swiss regulations.
Be proactive with health and safety issues by keeping up to date with CLEAPSS guidelines and attending monthly health and safety committee meetings.

Provide technical assistance for the teaching and learning of Science and Art & Design in the Secondary, including extracurricular science and art/design/creativity clubs.
Assist and liaise with the Head of Art and Design in placing orders for art supplies and maintaining a database of equipment/stock.
Act in accordance with the policies of the School and in particular with the principles laid down in the Staff Handbook, Staff Code of Conduct, ICT Acceptable Use Policy and Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy

Essential
