This position is located in ADME, a chapter within Global Pharmaceutical Sciences, where the fate of new chemical entities and biologics is a primary focus. The ADME Chapter works throughout all stages of compound development, from lead optimization to candidate selection, all clinical development phases to the filing of new drug applications. We closely collaborate with our therapeutic areas and functions to convert hypotheses into innovative therapeutics.

Role Mission

Depending on your background, you will either support biotransformation, enzymology or transport to assess the drug metabolism and disposition of our new small molecule and biologics drug research and development candidates.

Your Impact

  • The responsibility of the job encompasses the set-up, validation and application of state-of-the-art approaches to assess the biotransformation, enzymology or transport of our small molecule drug candidates besides new modalities upon necessity.

  • Projects in scope range from early discovery up to the regulatory submission stage in accordance with the health authority guidelines.

  • You will design experimental strategies, run and/or monitor the appropriate experiments, working with state-of-the-art LC-MS equipment.

Your Profile

You hold a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or a related relevant disciplineand have in-depth knowledge and several years of practical experience (preferably industrial) in the area of drug discovery and development ADME:

  • in structure elucidation of metabolites through the generation and interpretation of high-resolution mass spectra or

  • in the area of drug metabolism, enzyme inhibition/induction and in silico prediction methodologies (e.g. PBPK) for human PK prediction and DDI risk assessment or

  • in the area of active drug transporter research, including DDI risk assessment and regulatory requirements or

  • in plasma protein binding (PPB) for discovery and clinical phases.
