Supplier Quality Engineer
For our FAS Medic SA site in Switzerland, we are looking for dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the superior quality and compliance of materials and components sourced from diverse suppliers. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to uphold stringent quality standards and foster strong relationships with suppliers.
Conduct thorough audits of suppliers, spanning various commodities such as plastic injection, machined parts, and electronics, to evaluate their quality management systems.
Engage proactively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns, implement corrective measures, and prevent recurrence of issues.
Establish and maintain robust quality agreements and standards with our diverse supplier base.
Analyze supplier performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and strategies for risk mitigation.
Lead cross-functional teams (production, engineering, manufacturing…) in root cause analysis and problem-solving to address quality-related challenges.
Collaborate closely with procurement and engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and components.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive quality documentation and procedures.
Critical Competencies for Success
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience (1-3 years) in quality or supplier quality engineering within medical devices, automotive or related industry.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, APQP, PPAP).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, enabling seamless collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Certification in Audits (Certified Lead auditor) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in both English and French (spoken and written) is mandatory for effective communication with our diverse suppliers.
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland is mandatory
